StarWatch Service

Overview:

 

StarWatch is a service which is responsible for most HelpSTAR monitoring activities that affect workflow. These include Resuming Scheduled Requests, Generating Due Alerts, Reminders, Priority Escalation, Automatic Email Updates, Incoming Email Processing, Outgoing Email Notifications, Outgoing Pager Notifications, ADS Import and Datagrams. Note that the following functions must be configured in HelpSTAR before they will run:

You must install StarWatch by running the Installation procedure. The StarWatch service can only be started and stopped from the machine on which it is installed. The service runs continuously and will launch automatically if the machine on which it is installed is stopped and restarted.

HelpSTAR’s StarWatch Service is a background component that is required for many of the monitoring activities that affect workflow.  These activities include generating alerts, automatic email updates, processing incoming/outgoing emails, request scheduling and Active Directory import/synchronization.
